We are currently recruiting for a Technical Officer/ Environmental Protection Officer to join our team and provide quality environmental protection services to the residents of the borough. This role will undertake work mainly in the field of statutory nuisance.
Ideally, you will have experience of working in a regulatory role including Environmental Protection work, preferably in a local authority or public service organisation. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, both to fellow colleagues and the public, but also show the ability to think analytically and have the ability to take action where necessary. The role will work directly with the wider Environmental Health team to ensure compliance and that action is taking in a timely manner.

This role will carry out Environmental Protection investigations and inspections, using appropriate enforcement and advisory approaches to achieve legal compliance, customer satisfaction and service and quality standards. The work will mainly be in the area of domestic-related statutory nuisance (e.g. noise, refuse accumulations, bonfires).

Previous experience and competency in Environmental Protection-related work required.

Must have excellent written and communication skills

The use of a vehicle is essential for this role
