Full Time Permanent Appointment, to start September 2019

Queen’s Croft High School is a generic secondary special school that educates children from the Lichfield District and further afield who have a range of special educational needs.  Children at the school have a wide and varied range of needs including learning difficulties, ASD, communication difficulties and complex needs.

The school operates a varied curriculum that differs depending on the needs of individuals and groups.  The school seeks a suitably qualified and experienced class teacher to teach a class group in Key Stage 3 for the majority of their subjects including English, Maths, Science, PSHE and Humanities.  Applications are welcome from candidates with varied backgrounds though this post would particularly suit someone with experience of teaching in a primary school setting.  An interest in and empathy with special educational needs is essential but previous experience in a special school, whilst desirable, is not essential.

For a suitable candidate there would be the possibility of leading PSHE and SRE across the school.  Candidates interested in this possibility should make this clear in their application letter.

This post offers the successful candidate the opportunity to make a huge difference in the academic and personal development of the students at this successful and popular school.

Completed application forms should be returned to the school either by post or electronically to office@queenscroft.staffs.sch.uk.  The closing date for applications is 12pm on Monday 20th May 2019, Interviews will take place on Thursday 23rd May 2019.

This School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form.
