 It is an exciting time in the field of Data Protection and the Senior Information Governance Officer role is a great opportunity to join the council and help shape its future. Dudley has a well-established and robust Information Governance structure and consistently achieves high assessment ratings. We are looking to fill this opportunity with an experienced and highly motivated professional who will complement the skills of the existing team.

The Corporate Information Governance Team focuses on ensuring that the council has robust information governance controls in place and complies with Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Environmental Regulation responsibilities. The team also operates a traded Information Governance service across schools within the Dudley Borough.

To be considered for this role you will have experience of working in information governance and/or with information access requests (EIR/FOI and SAR). An excellent ability to supervise others in a busy environment and manage the challenges that Information Governance compliance brings including compliance auditing, breach management and policy/procedure development.

Salary:  Grade 9

 

The role will support the council’s Data Protection and Information Governance Manager (DPO).

In this role you will supervise and provide leadership to the Corporate Information Governance Team. Specific responsibilities will include: senior support with handling information access requests (Data Protection, FOI and EIR); providing advice on data processing risks; providing support to the DPO to ensure the organisation complies with its data protection responsibilities; supervising and leading on the Information Governance Traded Service for schools; and helping ensure all information within the organisation is appropriately and robustly governed.
