Cover Supervisor / After-School Support

The Role

(Fixed-Term contract to 31 July 2020 in the first instance)

Band F, pt 7 - 10 (£19,554 - £21,166)

39 weeks per year (to include five teacher training days)

* 32.5 hrs p/wk Cover Supervisor only - actual starting salary £14,645 pa

OR

* 37 hrs p/wk Cover Supervisor/After-School Support Assistant – actual starting salary £16,673 pa

As the school expands, we are looking for new Cover Supervisors to join our cover team. You will well-supported by senior leaders, and, if new to the role, you will receive training and guidance. Our pupils are cooperative and good behaviour is key to our success.

Cover Supervisors cover short-term absence of teaching staff. They will implement work programmes, assistant pupils in their learning and manage whole classes as well as small groups. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate looking for variety and experience of the classroom setting without the need to take on the full responsibilities of teaching.

Key Requirements

A successful applicant will be a good communicator with all ages and levels of ability, have a flexible approach to work and be prepared to learn new skills. Previous experience would be beneficial, but not necessary. This is a good opportunity for a graduate or NQT before completing teacher training.

For 37 hours per week, the successful candidate will work with the intervention, pastoral or the SEND teams after the timetable finishes.
