Ryders Hayes School, a popular, two-form entry Primary, taking children from age 2 to 11 years, at the cutting edge of education, was one of the first Academy Converters and Teaching Schools in the country. Ryders Hayes was established as a Teaching School in 2011 and has a strong reputation across the Black Country for provision of: school to school support; leadership development; coaching; moderation and Early Years expertise. It has designated more than 40 Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) who are deployed in schools across Walsall to raise standards. It is one of the largest primary providers in the area of Initial Teacher Training, ITT, as lead school for School Direct. A brand new, purpose-built facility, with capacity to train 50 delegates at any one time was recently opened on the school site.

We are looking for a Level 2 / Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team from as soon as possible, who will be able to provide flexible cover for TA colleagues’ short-term absence and support our continuous provision as a play leader during the lunchtime period, as one of a team of highly effective teaching assistants. The successful candidate should have experience of working in this capacity. The majority of the cover required on a regular weekly basis will be between the hours of 11.30am and 1.30pm, whilst additional requests may vary considerably according to need i.e. ranging from 0 hours to 27.5 hours per week. We require someone who will inspire colleagues, pupils and parents; bring fresh ideas, and ignite children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning with high expectations for themselves and our pupils, helping them to form positive relationships and to thrive.

    to have achieved Level 2 or Level 3 TA standard
    high expectations for yourself and our pupils 
    to be a good role model for pupils and colleagues 
    to be a team player 
    to champion our high standards of pupil behaviour and expectations of good character
    support the development of an inspiring and innovative curriculum;
    uphold the inclusive principles that are integral to our ethos; 
    understand the needs of our varied community.
    hold Maths and English GCSE grades C/4 or above.
