Full Time 37 Hours per week

We are looking for a creative and pro-active leader who can confidently challenge and initiate policy change, in addition to creating and developing an overarching strategic plan, for the service.
This is a key position reporting to the Assistant Director for Children’s Safeguarding & Family Support, responsible for driving forward the Council’s Fostering, Adoption and Permanence service.

This is both a tactical and strategic role, bearing the responsibility of managing the delivery of high quality, inclusive services for vulnerable children and young people on a day to day basis, as well as planning and implementing a programme of improvement work to meet the demands of the three year Ofsted Inspection cycle.
Priority areas include service quality, performance and working with partners and stakeholders across Telford to successfully deliver services and projects with the aim of achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people, leading on supporting the implementation of the North Midland Adoption and Permanency Partnership

You must be an authentic leader demonstrating the values of the organisation in everything that you do, motivating your team to focus on providing services that maximise outcomes.
The team has excellent relationships with external agencies but your ability to communicate with and establish your credibility with these agencies is crucial as you will work closely with them across the breadth of the role.

For further information on the role, please click on the job description and person specification which is available below.
If you think you can meet the challenge and would like to find out more about this role, please contact Jo Britton, Assistant Director for Children’s Safeguarding and Family Support on 01952 385008.

Applicants should review the supporting documentation and complete the application form available via the WM Jobs Portal.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 15th September 2019.
Interview and selection activities will take place on Friday 11th October 2019.
