We wish to appoint an Assistant Headteacher with unwavering positivity, unconditional positive regard, and an outstanding track record in the teaching and learning of those with complex Special Educational Needs. The successful candidate will be ambitious for the school and its learners; committed to the professional development of self and others, and ready for an exciting new challenge in senior leadership.

Mary Elliot School is a Special School in Walsall providing education to young people between the ages of 11 and 19, all of whom have a variety of SEND complexities. The post holder will be joining the Senior Leadership Team as we begin a journey that will see Mary Elliot work towards its potential, as part a collaborative, supportive and progressive federation. This is an exciting time, and offers an opportunity to shape the future of the lives of the most significantly challenged young people in the area.

If you are confident to be able to pair your high level of skill in the classroom with innovative and creative strategic thinking, and you are motivated by making a real difference on a whole school level, then this role will provide you with the scope to achieve this.

Working closely with the Head of School and Executive Headteacher of the Federation, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the day to operations of the school, and areas of school development and improvement which will be agreed depending on experience and skills. The post holder will also form part of the wider Senior Leadership of the Federation as it aligns policy, procedure and practice.
