Sports Apprenticeship – ref EX01719
We are currently seeking an apprentice to work in conjunction with class teachers and school staff to support all aspects of Physical Education across all age groups. This may entail supporting P.E. lessons by preparing playing areas, organising sports equipment, supervising and working with small groups in P.E. lessons, running extra-curricular activities and supporting school holiday clubs.
As an outdoor learning school, successful candidates would ideally be expected to join in with our extensive outdoor programme which includes numerous camps and expeditions.
Hours: 30 hours per week, term time (9.30 am to 4.30 pm)
Rates of Pay: Millfield Primary School supports ‘age appropriate’ wages:
25 and over - £8.21
21 to 24 - £7.70/hour
18 to 20 - £6.15/hour
Under 18 - £4.35/hour
Qualifications required: GCSE English and Mathematics Grade C or above
Essential requirements:
- Keen interest in sports and outdoor education.
- A good sense of humour
- Be able to follow safeguarding and child protection procedures and the ability to handle confidential information.
Desired requirements:
- National coaching qualifications in a variety of sports
- Canoe/ Kayak qualification
- Duke of Edinburgh silver or gold or Chief scout Award

Training Provider: You will undertake an Advanced Apprenticeship at level 3 this will include 20% off job training and will include working towards a Diploma in Supporting the delivery of Physical Education and School Sport
