Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to lead the Council’s Exchequer service.

The service is responsible for the administration and collection of Council Tax and Business Rates, and all supporting functions. In addition, the service administers the recovery of benefit over payments, and sundry debts, along with the payment of the Council’s creditors. Administration of selected grants falls within the remit of the team.

With growth in the population and the number of properties across the District, the work of service has increased in recent years; a trend that is set to continue. With reduced finances facing local government, many initiatives have been put into place to work more efficiently and making use of digital technology, whilst seeking to provide an enhanced service to customers through greater self-service.

Applicants should have a detailed knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates. In addition, they should extensive experience of managing a large team and ICT system.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Mike Snow, Head of Finance on 01926 456800.

Closing date: 9.00am Monday 3rd June 2019

Interviews to be held: Tuesday 11th June 2019
