There are so many marvellous things about Corngreaves Academy. We provide the highest quality education for children from 3 up to 11 years of age.  

Corngreaves is a wonderful place to work where all staff are valued, supported and developed to be the best they possibly can be. All staff have 8 INSET days per year in order to do this along with many other strategies to support with staff well-being and workload. Through continuous improvement, we really strive to get the best from everyone.

About the role:

We are currently looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join and strengthen our SEND Team. Within this role, you will be based in our Transitional Learning Centre (TLC) supporting the Leader to deliver a bespoke curriculum to children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).  The right candidate will have:

  • Experience of supporting children with SEND including dealing with personal care;
  • A passion for SEND;
  • A good sense of humour-fun to be around;
  • The ability to work as a team and contribute to the wider school life;
  • Flexibility;
  • Committed to the role and life chances of vulnerable children.

A strong candidate will have knowledge of Makaton, PECs, TEACCH, an awareness of ASD and have positive handling training.  Although these skills are desirable, they are not essential as training will be provided.

Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with SEN pupils is essential. All applicants will need to hold a current enhanced DBS and be fully compliant to work in the UK.
