Salary pro rata to 25 hours per week term time only
Tuesday - Friday 8.55 - 3.30 (20 minutes' lunch-break). Term-time only
The Governors are seeking to employ an experienced creative and well-organised individual for the newly created post of Occupational Therapy Assistant commencing September 2019.
Job Summary
- Provide assistance in the day to day administration and clinical aspects of our
Occupational Therapy curriculum / provision.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of therapeutic programmes tailored to
the pupils of Abbey Hill School and College with the framework laid down by the
Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Implement and evaluate occupational therapy interventions for the pupils in
activities relating to their programme under the direction of the Occupational
Therapists. This will be running Occupational Therapy groups and individual
sessions to support pupils in achieving their Occupational Therapy goals..
- Plan a range of creative and meaningful group/individual activities and adapt these
activities to meet the need of the pupils, which will involve a flexible approach..
- Be aware of potential risks and to carry out thorough risk assessment prior to
running OT interventions..
- Help to maintain OT systems..
- Prepare and maintain materials and equipment for Therapy Sessions.
