Cover Supervisor Level 3 Grade 5

(Permanent/Full Time/Term Time only)

Five Ways is a large, three form entry primary school with approximately 675 pupils on roll.

This role will involve covering whole class lessons from Nursery to Year 6 when teachers are absent from school or taking part in training / meetings away from their classroom.

The person appointed will not be timetabled to work as a Teaching Assistant with any classes so that no disruption is caused when they are required to carry out the role as cover supervisor. When there is no requirement for the person appointed to carry out the role of cover supervisor, then they will be asked to support pupils as a Teaching Assistant as required.

The successful applicant will:

 - have good communication skills;

 - have good literacy and numeracy skills;

 - have the ability to relate well to children from Nursery to Year 6 and all adults;

 - be able to work constructively as part of a team;

 - be able to use positive behaviour management strategies to manage the behaviour of whole classes;

 - have high expectations for all pupils in terms of behaviour and academic standards;

 - be flexible, adaptable and able to work on their own initiative due to the nature of this role.
