Wraparound Care Manager

Salary: £11752- £14326 per annum

Hours: Variable Contract 23.5 – 28.5 hours per week. Initially 26 hours weekly.

The Governors at St. Kenelm’s Church of England Primary School, Romsley are looking to appoint a dedicated Wraparound Care Manager who can lead our new Breakfast and After-school clubs, which opens their doors for the first time at start of the new School Year in September 2019. The successful candidate will be pivotal in developing our new provision, growing it into Wraparound Care which is second-to-none. Do you have the vision, and inspiration to embrace this challenge?

If you are excited by this opportunity, have the skills to support the development of our Wraparound provision and are able to model ‘outstanding’ practice then we would welcome your application. Please note that the Wraparound Care is open to children from 7:30am until 8:50am, and again from 3:15pm until 6pm. The Manager will be expected to work during these times, with remaining hours utilised for planning and setting up activities, and liaising with the Business Support member of staff for Wraparound as necessary.

The Wraparound Care is on the site of St Kenelm’s CE Primary School, which is a forward looking village school set in beautiful countryside within Worcestershire, bordering both Dudley and Birmingham authorities. We aspire to provide the very best education for all pupils and strive to enable every individual to develop academically, socially, spiritually, emotionally and physically in order to achieve their full potential. As a part of this we are setting up our own before and after school provision, which we wish to provide a wide range of educational, fun activities for the children, whilst balancing with the need that some children may have to relax at the end of a busy school day.

We would like to appoint an outstanding individual who:

  • Will have the vision, innovation and inspiration to manage and develop our Wraparound Care
  • Share our commitment to provide high quality Wraparound Care in order for the children to develop socially and to have fun, learning in an ‘Out of School’ context
  • Promote and develop positive relationships with children, parents, staff and Governors
  • Be an exemplary role model with excellent communication skills, line managing other Wraparound staff (including shared responsibility for the Wraparound Care and Nursery Business Support worker).
  • Have the ability to enthusiastically lead the Wraparound Care in all areas.
  • Have the vision and skills to develop our Wraparound Care and inspire its pupils.
  • Encourage our children to become good citizens who know how to contribute to the wider community.
  • Maintain a culture that is child centred, promotes excellence, equality and high expectations
  • Support and develop our distinctive Christian nature and ethos
  • Become the Safeguarding Lead for the Wraparound provision
  • Be a key holder for school.
  • Undertake First Aid training (and be a First Aider) and Food Preparation training as needed.

Our Wraparound Care can offer you:

  • A stimulating, warm and caring environment to work in
  • Excellent outdoor facilities to promote learning
  • Welcoming,  well behaved, talented and creative children who work with enthusiasm and passion
  • An opportunity to shape, develop and grow the Wraparound provision.
  • A focused, supportive and effective governing body who share a clear sense of purpose and are committed to the further improvement of our school

We actively encourage visits to our school where our Headteacher Mrs Suzanne Shackleton (Head Teacher) or a School Governor will be delighted to show any interested candidates around. Please email office@stkenelms.worcs.sch.uk to arrange a suitable appointment. These informal visits will not form part of the recruitment process.

Closing date for applications is 9am on June 4th 2019

Our nursery and school (including Wraparound) are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and supporting all staff. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to take responsibility for the wellbeing of all pupils within our school. The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check prior to taking up this position.
