Passionate about giving children and young people a great start in life?

Our priority in Herefordshire is to keep children safe and give them a great start in life. It’s the priority for the council, our partners and for all of us who work in Children’s Wellbeing.

How do we do this? By having dynamic, dedicated, passionate and professional staff who work in a culture that focuses on what we can achieve with children, what they can achieve themselves, and the relationship we build with families and partners to enable this.

Herefordshire has a really strong team ethos. Our teams are passionate about the work they do and the positive difference they and the teams they are in make to people’s lives. This is all underpinned by the focus and support from their managers and the council as a whole.

The Child protection and Court Team service is looking for great people to join our existing teams in order to make a difference for the children and families we work with and to achieve the very best we can. We are proud of the team spirit which exists in our teams and across our service and by having supportive colleagues around you is what makes a difference. As a Senior practitioner you will take a lead role in modelling this ethos to the team, support social workers in developing their ongoing practice and be colleague who supports based on enhanced experience and practice of social work. You will also hold a small and complex caseload which will reflect your experience and knowledge. With this in mind if you think this is you, we would encourage to join us on our journey to improve children and families lives in Herefordshire.

The vacancy sits within a busy Child protection and Court Team undertaking both Court and CIN work. The team is made of a range of experienced and ASYE Social Workers who are all permanent. As a Senior Practitioner you will be expected to hold a small but complex case load and support qualified and ASYE workers with reflective supervision and mentoring in addition to undertaking some basic administrative tasks such as compiling the Duty rota or supporting the Children Social Work Manager where necessary. The staff are committed and dedicated to the children in Herefordshire and you will become part of a close, supportive and passionate team.

Come to Herefordshire and join the journey.
Competitive relocation payment of up to £5,000.
