We are looking for a Team Manager to manage the Council’s Parking Services team. You will work directly to the Head of Service and will be responsible for a team of technical and operational staff.

Hours:  37 per week

We are looking for a Team Manager to manage the Council’s Parking Services team. You will work directly to the Head of Service and will be responsible for a team of technical and operational staff.

Roles / Responsibilities:

• To be responsible for the development of the Parking service as an integral part of the Council’s Traffic and Highways functions, leading and advising on Civil Parking Enforcement operational and technical issues.
• To maintain and develop the Council’s Parking Enforcement Management System and the equipment connected to it to meet the challenges of a changing technical and financial environment.
• To liaise with service managers, partners and contractors to develop supporting technology and improve back office procedures to ensure regulatory requirements and continual service improvements are achieved.
• To manage, in an efficient and effective manner, budgets devolved to the post holder.
• To take a lead role in specific project work relating to on/off street parking and enforcement services.
• To ensure that Penalty Charge Notice processes and procedures comply with current legislation and are carried out in a fair and consistent manner across the team from issue of notice to closure of case.
• To ensure the reconciliation of Parking Services Income, both on/off street is in accordance with the Council’s financial regulations and audit guidelines.
• To work across the Division, Directorate, Council and to liaise with external agencies, including Bailiffs, County Court and Traffic Penalty Tribunal to promote good working relationships that enhance the management and development of on/off street parking and parking payment systems.

The successful candidate will have experience in a civil parking enforcement workforce in either a contracting or public services environment, and a thorough knowledge of Acts of Parliament, Government Regulations and parking payment systems
