Literacy & Numeracy Intern 

APT&C Scale 3 Points Range 14-17 £17681-£18672.00FTE(pay award pending)

 pro rata to hours worked

32.5hours per week term time only

Fixed term contract commencing September 2019 for 1 year in the first instance. 

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed academic mentor. The role requires mentoring of individuals and small groups who have been identified as requiring support in order to improve their literacy and numeracy skills and raise attainment across all subject areas. You will work closely with all Departments together with the Special Needs team, to prepare for, and support the student during lessons and learning activities.You may also be required to undertake supervision sessions in our school library.

The successful applicant will  ideally be a graduate with a degree in a relevant subject and will also have 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths (or equivalent). We are looking for someone who has a very flexible and enthusiastic approach to suit the varying needs of our students, and be prepared to undertake any associated tasks as required.  The school is keen to support the progress of the successful candidate to pursue a teacher training programme in the future. 

This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
