INTERNAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY OPEN TO EXISTING WALSALL COUNCIL EMPLOYEES ONLY
PERFORM+ COACHES
This is a personal and career development opportunity for staff who would like to learn new skills and be part of shaping our future ways of working. As such, it carries no specific rate of pay. Successful applicants will remain on their current terms and conditions for the duration of their time as a Perform + Coach before returning to their substantive post.
Do you want to help transform how we work?
Over the coming months we are implementing PERFORM+. This is a vital part of the Walsall Proud Programme. It empowers teams by using on-the-job coaching of team leaders and managers, week by week, to look at specific elements of how their teams work, such as problem solving and celebrating success. This creates a system that becomes a common way of working.
We need Perform+ Coaches to ensure that we get the most out of it. They will support participants, helping to build capability and create capacity within our services. You don’t need to be a qualified coach to apply.
You will nurture, guide and coach participants, enabling them to share good practice, improve communications, and solve problems. You need to be positive, proactive and passionate. You will also be driven, emotionally intelligent and organised, and be ready to leave your comfort zone. You will be supported by our Strategic Delivery Partner and the Perform+ Lead to learn and implement this new way of working.
These full-time roles will last for an initial 28 week period. Successful applicants will remain on their current terms and conditions for the duration of their time as a Perform+ Coach before returning to their substantive post. These personal and career development opportunities are open to all, regardless of grade or current service area. This is a great opportunity to develop new skills, gain experience and work with colleagues across the Council. If you have identified similar development goals in your APC, then this just might be for you!
To apply: please complete the attached Expression of Interest Form and send it by email to: recruitment@walsall.gov.uk by the closing date of midnight on Monday 10 June 2019.
There will be an opportunity to meet members of the team as part of this process.
Internal applicants should note that before applying for this opportunity they should seek the support and approval of their line manager in the first instance.
If you have any questions about PERFORM+ or specifically these opportunities then please email: walsallproudpmo@walsall.gov.uk
