Teacher of Religious Studies

MPS/UPS (£23,720 - £39,406)

The Excel Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and qualified teacher of Religious Studies to join our successful Humanities Department. The candidate will be supported by a strong team of highly motivated professionals who work collaboratively to raise standards and expectations at all levels throughout Key Stages 3 and 4.  In recognition of the quality of provision, the Academy holds the RE Gold Mark. This post would be suitable for someone newly qualified or experienced.

Our guiding principle is to ‘expect excellence’ in everything that we do. Every student is encouraged to achieve their best in the pursuit of excellence. Our strong ethos of pride and mutual respect, together with high quality teaching and learning, provides our students with the opportunities to exceed their expectations. Excel Academy’s students leave as aspiring, motivated and confident young adults.

The Academy boasts outstanding facilities, a new building and state-of-the-art learning environment. A recent Ofsted visit confirmed that the Academy remains a ‘good’ academy and is on a journey to become outstanding. They acknowledged that the Academy is highly regarded in the community and is the ‘school of choice’ locally, as a result it is now over-subscribed in many year groups.

The Alpha Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its employees and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other stringent vetting and induction processes.

If you feel that the position is of an interest and you have the right experience and skills and are ready for fresh challenges, then we would love to hear from you.  For details and an application form, please see our website.  Visits to our Academy are warmly welcomed, please contact the Academy to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.  Should you need any further information regarding your application please contact our Recruitment Team by email at recruitment@alphaacademiestrust.co.uk
