An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to support partners across Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country in the development of a multi-agency action plan to deliver the National Strategic Direction for Sexual Assault and Abuse Services. The Sexual Assault and Abuse Strategy will deliver lifelong care for victims and survivors of sexual violence across 6 core priority areas:
- Strengthening the approach to prevention
- Promoting safeguarding and the safety, protection and welfare of victims and survivors
- Involving victims and survivors in the development and improvement of services
- Introducing consistent quality standards
- Driving collaboration and reducing fragmentation
- Ensuring an appropriately trained workforce
The West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner has agreed to host a Coordinator, who will be instrumental in assisting local authorities and their partners (e.g. health, police and the third sector ) to improve services for victims and survivors across Coventry and Warwickshire. The post will sit within Policy and Commissioning Team within the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner but will also report to NHS England.
You'll have strong programme/project management skills and experience of working collaboratively with staff across a range of organisations to develop joint solutions to complex problems. Ideally your background will be in local authority, health or other public service. Self-motivated and confident, you'll be happy to work alone and in teams to achieve the desired outcomes.
You'll also be a strong communicator, able to explain and present information to a wide range of audiences including senior managers from the local authority, policing, health and a range of other partners. You will represent the local area at regional and national events and work closely with other co-ordinators in the region. Experience of using multi-agency approaches would be an advantage.
The ability to travel across the wider Midlands region is essential.
We are a diverse and flexible organisation and we welcome applications from everyone. We also offer a guaranteed interview scheme from those with disabilities.
