Coventry City Council’s Emergency Duty Team (EDT) is seeking to recruit a dynamic, experienced and highly skilled Social Worker to deliver an outstanding service to older adults, all age disability, children, young people and their families.

The Emergency Duty Team Officer is required to provide an out of hours social work response for the city for children, young people and adults. The Emergency duty team also covers the emergency housing role for the department out of hours.

About You

You will believe in providing a high-quality service that ensures that children and young people are at the heart of everything we do.

You will have experience of a wide range of social work provision and be confident of acting independently and to a high standard and at least two years post qualification experience in child protection work.

You will need to be an enthusiastic, resilient, flexible, quick thinking and confident Social Worker in order to work in conjunction with members of the public, professionals and agencies to ensure that appropriate solutions and support are provided to adults, children and young people out of hours.

You will need to have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and HCPC registration.

Knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to adults, children, young people and housing is required.
