The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is a strategic authority working with partners to deliver a stronger West Midlands, with a focus on skills, innovation, transport, economic development and regeneration. Individual Councils and Local Enterprise Partnerships will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.
This is an exciting time for the West Midlands - the Commonwealth Games will be here in 2022, the arrival of HS2 will help make us a world class business location and a new £350m housing deal aims to deliver 215,000 new homes by 2031.

About the Role
The Adult Education Budget is a critical part of how the Combined Authority will support regional growth through its Local Industrial Strategy. We’re looking for an individual to manage the commissioning and delivery of the £126m adult education budget across the region. The role involves close working with colleges and training providers to develop the adult education offer to residents.
You will need to develop strong working relationships with the ESFA and DfE around the national AEB policy and you will need to shape the policy in the region in consultation with local stakeholders.
Monitoring the impact and performance of the adult education budget at provider and aggregate level will form a key aspect of the role.
You will need to have a strong understanding of the adult education budget and wider skills policy and funding. You are likely to have experience of operational or strategic delivery of adult education from either a college, provider or agency perspective. Equally you will understand how investment in skills can deliver local and regional ambitions around inclusive growth.
