Monday 8.45 - 4.20   Tuesday - Friday:  8.45 - 3.30  32.5 hours term time only.

We are a co-educational day school for pupils aged 3 – 19 years of age with moderate learning difficulties, ASD and Communication & Interaction difficulties.  More information about the school can be found on our website: https://www.abbeyhillschool.co.uk/ 

The Governors are seeking to appoint, for September, an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Practitioner to work with our pupils as part of a professional team supporting teaching & learning. You will have experience of working with students with a range of SEN, ASD and Communication & Interaction difficulties and have good interpersonal skills and the ability to be an effective team player

Actual salary: £18222 - £20586. 

Job Purpose

To provide classroom cover of up to 3 days during any short-term absence

To work with teachers as part of a professional team to organise and support teaching and learning activities for SEN pupils, including classes. The primary focus is to work with individuals and groups delivering specified work under the direction & supervision of a qualified teacher. The individual provides specialist learning support for pupils identified as having learning difficulties, including complex and multiple special education needs, in a broad range of different learning situations and settings. The post holder also plans, organises & undertakes other related duties to fully support & underpin learning, personal & social development.

The vacancy is in a KS5 Autism Support Class.  However, staff are appointed to work across the school in any Key Stage should the need arise.
