An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Development and Commissioning Manager in Public Health at Walsall Council.  We are seeking an experienced, motivated and proactive individual to join our team, who can engage effectively with partner agencies to deliver health improvement.

Walsall Council is an innovative organisation, undergoing a transformational change programme to modernise its service offer to Walsall residents.  The public health team has strong collaborative working with partners across the borough including the NHS, voluntary sector, West Midlands Police and Housing and Fire services.  Regulatory services are a part of the public health team and we will shortly be joined by colleagues from parks and green spaces and sports development.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of public health services and possess a degree in a relevant field and a further professional qualification in programme management.

You will have excellent IT skills with a knowledge of systems and processes in health improvement. Your expertise and leadership will support the delivery of service change with additional capacity to drive forward a range of strategic projects and programmes including green spaces, physical activity programmes and developing new teams.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate experience of managing successful projects with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
