Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join SMBCs Prevent Team as our Prevent Education Officer. 

This is currently a fixed term post, funded by the Home Office until 31st March 2020. This is reviewed every year and SMBC are committed to the role going forward.

We are looking for a positive, pro-active individual with a background in delivering educational input to a wide variety of audiences, liaising with schools and community groups and who has an excellent understanding of safeguarding and the Prevent Agenda.

The successful candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and an in-depth understanding and commitment to working with groups and individuals with different needs in a challenging environment.

This would be an excellent opportunity to develop skills and links within this area of work, and the broader Community Safety arena. This will be suited for someone looking for an initial short-term contract or as a secondment from another area within SMBC.
