Scale 3£18,795 – £19,171 per annum37 hours per week Based at Service Headquarters, Hindlip park, WR3 8SPFixed Term Contract for 6 monthsA temporary opportunity for 6 months has arisen in the HR & Development Department, based at Service Headquarters.The post holder will be responsible for providing comprehensive administration and support to the HR & Development department. This includes supporting the timely processing and production of HR & Development information including but not limited to Contracts of Employment and standard selection process paperwork.The PersonThe ideal applicant will be in possession of GCSE’s at grade C or above to include English Language, or equivalent experience or qualification. This is in addition to a typing/word processing qualification to OCR Level 2 or equivalent level or equivalent experience.Skills and Experience - Experience gained in general administration- Experience of reviewing and implementing working practices and procedures- Experience of developing systems to support departmental activity- Experience of invoicing and order generation- Experience of working with quality assurance processes and maintaining comprehensive records- Competent word processing and administrative skills;- Knowledge of general IT systems and applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) including spreadsheets and databases- Strong communication and interpersonal skills including a tactful, professional telephone manner- The ability to work unsupervised, and to exercise and rely on own judgement- The ability to organise and prioritise a diverse workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure- The ability to work both autonomously and as a team member- The ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential informationAbout UsEvery day we're helping to save lives and keep the community safe - and not only by fighting fires. Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for providing day-to-day fire and rescue services across the two counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Our stations are staffed by a mix of 'wholetime' firefighters - operating on a full-time basis and providing an immediate response - and ‘on-call’ firefighters who work and live in their local communities and respond to emergency calls whenever they are needed.
There are many interesting career opportunities with us, in Fire Control or one of our non-uniformed specialist support roles as well as being a firefighter.
