SEND Family Partnership Officer

Salary:  £25,463.00- £29,909.00 per annum – Pay award pending

Post 1 – Pro Rata  - 30 Hours per week – Permanent post (30 hours over a 4-day period Monday to Wednesday and Friday).

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the SENDIASS Staffordshire Family Partnership Service for a SEND Family Partnership Officer.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to join our friendly and supportive team.  Do you have excellent interpersonal skills?  Are you a warm, confident person?  Can you work independently  and as part of a team? Then you may be the person we need to support our parents and carers of\and children and young people with special educational needs and\or a disability (SEND).

About the SENDIASS Staffordshire Family Partnership Service:

The service is the SEND Information, Advice and Support Service for Staffordshire.  We are a confidential and impartial service for parents and carers of children with SEND 0-25 and children and young people.  We also work with schools and other professionals.  The service operates at arms-length from the local authority.

About the role:

The post holder will work directly with both parents and carers from across the county to empower them to take a full and active role in decisions made about their child.  In addition, the post holder will also support children and young people.  The post holder will respond to callers to the SENDIASS Staffordshire Family Partnership helpline and complete casework activity including, office visits, (home visits by exception), provide support at meetings in school and with other professionals as required where appropriate.

The successful applicant will have the ability to work in partnership, not only with parents, carers, children and young people but with a range of professionals.  Experience of direct working with families is essential.

Knowledge of the education, social care and health systems, particularly in the field of special educational needs and disability is essential.   IPSEA law qualified would be an advantage.
