Job Details

Senior Community Protection Enforcement Officer – Ref: EE43119
G8: £29,343 - £33,464 per annum.

These are fixed term contracts to the end of March 2020.

The Community Protection Team are recruiting to 5 new posts – 4 Community Protection Enforcement Officers and 1 Senior Community Protection Enforcement Officer.  This is an exciting time to join a busy multi-disciplinary team and to support its ongoing development as it works to make a real difference to the lives of our residents, businesses and visitors.

The work of the team involves enforcement of a wide range of legislation covering issues such as anti-social behaviour, environmental crime, noise nuisance, licensing enforcement and unauthorised encampments.  Although the post holders may get involved in cases across the full range of work dealt with by the team, they will specialise in environmental crime and ASB, targeting hot spot locations and issues.  The post holders will be providing a highly visible uniformed patrolling service tackling some of our highest priority issues, working a shift pattern of 37 hours over 5 days, Monday to Saturday, 07.30 to 19.00 hrs.

We are looking for self-motivated officers with experience in ASB or environmental crime as well as practical experience of the investigation of relevant offences or civil breaches and experience of working with partner agencies and building good rapport with communities.  Full details of the post, and personal qualities required are on the attached job description/employee specification.  The Senior Community Protection Enforcement Officer will also carry out supervisory duties for the team.

The post holders will be expected to work out of hours at evenings, nights and weekends to meet the needs of the service including at short notice.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.

For more information or an informal chat, please contact Steve Gittins on 01922 654297 or Steve Brown on 01922 653064.

Interviews will be held on 8th and 9th July 2019.

Closing Date: Sunday 23rd June 2019.
