Team Manager – Looked After Childrens and Permanence Team, Full time 37 hours
We are a vibrant and diverse team covering the city, ensuring the smooth running of a highly efficient social work team carrying out assessments, as part of court proceedings and proactively planning with children and young people who are looked after. Working within a highly regarded, efficient and caring service you will take on the management of one of four social work teams consisting of a senior practitioner, a children and family worker and a mixture of experienced and newly qualified social workers.
You will nurture and create a supportive network for you and your team to be able to practice creative social work using the Signs of Safety Methodology, whilst working to achieve excellent outcomes for our children, young people and their families.
You will need to have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and HCPC registration with experience in the following areas
- Providing leadership and management to the team that under takes court work and a statutory responsibility for care planning and children and young people in care.
- Significant experience in working with children and families in a statutory social Care setting with demonstrable experience of decision making in regards to children’s cases.
- Proven skills in being able to lead, manage, and motivate staff
- Proven skills in partnership working
- Experience of working across organisational and management boundaries to achieve improved outcomes for children, young people and their families
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience of working under pressure whilst meeting deadlines.
- Experience of using performance data to monitor and shape service improvements
