(or January 2020 for a candidate required to give notice for their current post)

King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Science teacher; a specialism in Physics would be an advantage but is not essential. In 2018, 86% of Year 11 students achieved at least two GCSE science grades at 9-4 and over half of the cohort took the Triple Science course. Across Triple Science, over a third of students achieve grades 9-7; you will be joining a high-performing department with a passion for their subject.

As a teacher, you will teach Science across the age and ability range and specialise at Key Stage 4 and 5. Science is popular and successful from Key Stage 3 through to our thriving, successful Sixth Form.

We have a strong uptake for A-level, with at least two groups for all three sciences in both Year 12 and13.

We are looking for a teacher with infectious enthusiasm, excellent communication skills alongside the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life. The post is suitable for a current classroom teacher or for a Newly Qualified Teacher. A part-time appointment would be considered for a suitable candidate.

King Edward VI School is a popular 11-18 comprehensive school rated Good by OfSTED in 2017 with recognition of outstanding practice and a highly positive ethos. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching; we are currently expanding to take in an additional form of entry from 2019. Lichfield is a small, vibrant cathedral City which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas.

Closing date: Monday 24 June 2019 – 09:00am. Early applications would be welcome.

Interviews: Thursday 27 June 2019
