The Governors of Baginton Fields School are seeking to appoint 2 committed and motivated Apprentice Teaching Assistants who have a genuine interest in providing quality education and care at this broad spectrum special school for secondary aged students. The positions include:

• Assisting the teacher to secure achievement and progress in the curriculum for all students.
• Proactively assess, record and report on student progress under the direction of the teacher.
• Establishing constructive relationships with students providing feedback to them in relation to progress and achievement as directed.
• Responding to the personal care needs of students in a manner that conveys dignity and respect.

Working closely with secondary aged students with a wide range of learning needs applicants should be enthusiastic, proactive, flexible and demonstrate the ability to problem solve and apply initiative. The capacity to contribute to a team approach is vital to the role.

Baginton Fields is well regarded within the local authority for providing high quality provision and specific professional development is available to the successful candidates.

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday term time only - 39 weeks - 32 1/2 hrs per week

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
