Solihull Community Housing are seeking enthusiastic persons to join our busy Housing Options Team to meet the requirements of the new Homelessness Reduction Act. We are recruiting three permanent posts to deliver our services. These roles will provide effective housing advice and assistance to prevent and resolve homelessness. You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, have an ability to work flexibly to changing demands and operate in a coordinated manner with other team members to ensure successful outcomes. Finding the right people is critical to our future success. We are looking for people who are able to think creatively, adapt to change and implement new ideas. If you think you have the right skills, capability and attitude to help us on this exciting journey we want to hear from you. The primary aim of this role is to prevent and resolve customer homelessness. Our Housing Options Officers will be the first point of contact in this customer facing service providing timely, high quality advice and assistance to maximise their housing opportunities. We are looking for people who:
- Have experience in housing advice
- Have detailed knowledge of housing law and practice
- Have experience in housing advice
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have good planning and organising skills
- Are accurate and attentive to detail
- Are confident using Microsoft Office and databases
- Are empathetic and able to deal with customers in a sensitive and appropriate manner in a demanding environment

We are an Arm's Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up in April 2004 to run the housing service on behalf of Solihull Council. The Council still owns the properties and is the landlord. But housing services are delivered by us.
