Coten End Primary is a large, very popular, 3-form entry school situated in Warwick. There are 612 pupils on roll and in September we will have 3 forms in every year group throughout the school.

We wish to recruit a Teaching Assistant who will join our outstanding team in September 2019 and will be made to feel welcome by all staff and children alike. The Role
32.5 Hours per Week
We are looking to recruit a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our SEN support team. Working under the overall supervision of the class teacher and SENCO, the successful applicants will assist, support and plan teaching and learning, provide for general car, safety and welfare of one pupil and work with other individuals or groups of pupils. The start date of the post will be 1st September 2019. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm (term-time only).
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the qualifications, skills and experience outlined in the job description.
Key Requirements
- Hold a recognised and relevant NVQ level 2 qualification and have undertaken other appropriate training (preferably leading to national standards at NVQ level 3) or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, experience and skills.
- Have attended further training on aspects of the curriculum or areas of specific special need (autism/attachment disorder/Down's syndrome).
- Minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grades A – C.
- Have good communication and listening skills and be able to present information verbally and in writing to others.
- Have additional communication skills, e.g. relevant sign language.
- Have experience of TA work.
- Understand school’s policies and how they relate to local and national frameworks/policies (e.g. child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities, SEN).
- Have good level of knowledge and understanding of SEN and areas of the curriculum.
- Can use ICT effectively to support learning and use other technology equipment.
- Can plan own work when required.
- Can transfer theory/training into practice.
- Can solve problems and can exercise initiative and independent action.
- Proactive in offering ideas.
- Demonstrate full understanding of safeguarding issues within a school setting.
