Are you motivated by knowing the things you do well will make a difference to young people? If so, come and visit us to find out more!

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team to work with and support our SEND students on a 1:1 basis.  The role will also entail inspiring and enthusing our students to meet their aspirational targets as well as supporting other students to access learning in the classroom.  Our inclusion faculty is integral to the school’s vision to ensure the young people in our school overcome barriers to their learning and achieve their full potential.

This is a unique opportunity to provide specialist support utilising your skills, as well as mentoring a small group of students, whilst also observing a wide range of lessons across all subjects and years.  This post would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to enter teaching, as the position would offer school-based experience prior to applying for a PGCE or School Direct opportunity.  Excellent numeracy and literacy skills would be an advantage so that you can support the young people in our school with their English and Maths.

You will be approachable, enthusiastic, motivated and resilient and able to support our vulnerable students encouraging them to become independent learners.

You will be joining Kingsbury School at an exciting time as we are part of Castle Phoenix Trust and are very proud of our recent achievement to secure a good Ofsted outcome.  Being part of a Multi Academy Trust, and its associated teaching school, facilitates an opportunity to further develop our strategies to continue to invest in and develop our staff and, most importantly, bring about the best possible outcomes for our students who deserve the very best.

We will ensure you receive a comprehensive induction programme; every day will be different and we will play to your strengths.  We also offer a range of benefits which include the local government pension scheme, cycle to work scheme, discounted gym membership, free parking and an employee discount scheme and a commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition through our wellbeing committee and people strategy.

Kingsbury has a great deal to be proud of, with a relentless focus on excellence and a desire to continuously improve.  If you are passionate about improving students’ life chances, as we are, please contact Helen Jones,  Senior Administration Lead/PA to the Headteacher and SLT for information, an informal discussion about the post or to arrange a visit at jones.h3@welearn365.com  Visits to the school prior to application are strongly encouraged and will be warmly welcomed.

Application forms available from the Trust website http://castlephoenixtrust.org.uk/job-opportunities/vacancies/  or from HumanResources@caludoncastle.co.uk.  Application forms are to be returned to HumanResources@caludoncastle.co.uk.

Application deadline: 9:00am on Monday 1 July 2019

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this posts will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).  The Trust is committed to safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children and young people and creating a culture of vigilance and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and vigilance.
