£18,777 - £20,325 per annum

37 hours per week, term time only plus one week

Due to great success and expansion, The Linden Centre Mini School is seeking a SEND/Early Years/KS1-2 HLTA who are enthusiastic, passionate, nurturing to join their team of specialist staff in September 2019. The Linden Mini School supports children in Years 1-6 with EHCPs who are presenting challenging behaviours and learning needs which are preventing them from settling effectively to learning in mainstream school. The Linden Mini School is part of The Linden Centre and is a specialist SEND Resources Base with two classrooms and eight children and has an Ofsted Report 2018 - Good with Outstanding for Behaviour, Personal Development and Welfare. It is likely that this post will support two Year 1 children in a large nurturing classroom with the support of an Early Years TA. We encourage you to visit The Linden Mini School before applying.

The successful candidate will be dedicated to improving outcomes for these children and to supporting families and other professionals. The person will provide support for the Teacher’s programmes of learning, assessment and nurture to support children and young people. These programmes will include supporting learning in the core subjects as well as supporting both the learning and social/emotional needs of the learners and delivering interventions and therapeutic 1:1 opportunities. Experience in recently working within educational settings is essential and experience in managing challenging behaviour and SEND is preferred, although it is not essential.

  • A working knowledge of policies and practice relating to vulnerable children with complex needs.
  • A confident, compassionate and nurturing approach to working with vulnerable children with complex needs.
  • Resilient and the ability to cope with the emotional demands of working with vulnerable children with complex needs.
  • Highly organised and the ability to maintain written records of initial assessments and other relevant records.
  • Self-directed and well organised with the ability to effectively manage time and workload to meet deadlines and use own initiative.
  • Evidence of commitment to continued professional and personal development.
  • Good timekeeper, reliable and punctual.
  • Excellent ICT skills.
