Archive Trainee


The County Record Office looks after Warwickshire's historic archives with documents dating back to the 12th century. Our busy public service welcomes nearly 4000 visitors per year, helping family and local historians with their research.

 

 This post is one of several that make up the Record Office's Public Service Team. We are looking for an archive trainee with good communication skills and a commitment to delivering a high quality public service. You will work on a rota basis as as receptionist, a document production assistant, and be comfortable working with a variety of IT applications.

 


Key Requirements
  

You must have stamina to work in a very demanding environment and will have a level of physical fitness to enable you lift and carry documents on a daily basis from the strong rooms around the weight of 10kg. You will also need to fulfil all the essential criteria on the Person Specification.This position provides practical experience of public service that would suit a candidate wishing to pursue a career in archives.
