About the role

Required to start September 2019.

Salary: Grade 3 £18,065 - £18,426 pa

We require an enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistant to work on a one to one basis with a child within our Speech and Language Centre.  This is a County funded Centre for children with Developmental Language Disorder and/or Speech Sound Disorders who experience a wide range of difficulties with communication and any associated problems.  Children are supported by a multi disciplinary team consisting of teachers, speech and language therapist, special needs teaching assistants, and, where appropriate, other professionals (e.g. occupational therapist, educational psychologist).

The successful candidate would initially join the team to support an individual child within our Key Stage 1 setting.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is qualified to NVQ Level 2 (Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
• Has EYFS or Y1 experience
• Has experience of teaching children with special educational needs 
• Has experience supporting 1-2-1.
• Can work flexibly as part of a team
• Preferably has experience in Autistic Spectrum Conditions

• Preferably is trained in Makaton
• Will want to share in the challenges and rewards of raising the achievement of our pupils
• Is committed to developing as a professional
