£28,203 - £29,854 per annum

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a highly motivated team working at the forefront of a swiftly changing organisation in delivering Engineering Services that design and implements Highway and Municipal Engineering Schemes across the Borough on time and to budget

Telford is renowned as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution with the world famous Ironbridge spanning the River Severn located in the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and is home to Telford Town Park voted the best park in the country.

The town has grown and developed into a hub of innovation and investment including the new £250m Southwater Development, £12m Town Centre Box Road scheme and is currently delivering the £17.3m Telford Growth Point Package, £3.6m M54 Junction 4 improvements, £12m Telford Town Centre Connectivity Package and £5m highways capital programme.

  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing including Presentation Skills.
  • Able to negotiate effectively with other professionals.
  • Able to continuously monitor, review and improve working practices

  • Able to appreciate and balance many demands and constraints, both environmental and ‘political’, to produce practical and effective solutionsFinancial monitoring skills are essential for the effective monitoring of projects.

  • Experience of working with Architects, Planners, Building Control Officers and other professions within engineering.

    Experience in the design and supervision of engineering schemes including the production and administration of contract documentation.

    Experience in the operation of computer software.

    Experience of dealing with customers and Councillors in a local authority or other regulatory environment

    Experience in the use of standard word processing, spreadsheet and database software
