Job Details

Brockmoor Primary School is looking to appoint a full time receptionist and administrator from September 2019. We are a two-form entry school catering for pupils from 3-11 years situated within the borough of Dudley, in the heart of the Black Country.

The school has served the local community since 1887 and many families have attended the school for several generations. Brockmoor is an area that faces many challenges for its young people, but equally demonstrates a strong community spirit and the pupils, parents and staff are justly proud of our diverse heritage.

Brockmoor has a strong sense of inclusion and our parents, governors and partners form a vital part of our school community. We put our children at the heart of everything we do and are dedicated to providing them with a school environment in which they are safe, happy and learning. We value our staff and ensure that they are well supported and trained. The well-being of our staff and pupils forms an integral part of our school ethos.

Our School Administrator is the first point of call to welcome visitors to the school, be it parents, children, contractors or other professionals. You will provide professional front of house support and adhere to the schools’ safeguarding policy at all times. Our Administrator should be highly organised, focused, personable and helpful.

In addition, it is essential that the person for this role is:

• Able to multitask, work flexibly and have a ‘can do’ approach to work, as no two days are the same.
• Computer literate with knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Excel, Word) and the Internet.
• Able to work under own initiative and deal confidentially with duties as required.
• Able to provide an excellent telephone manner.
• Proactive in supporting staff, children and visitors to the school.
• Able to demonstrate existing knowledge of school systems such as Intregris (would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided).
• Able to demonstrate previous experience of working within a busy office environment.

Interviews will be held week commencing 8th July 2019.

The post will be 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only, 8.20 a.m. to 4.20 p.m., including Teacher Training Days.

For further information, please call Brockmoor Primary School and ask to speak to Tracey Parsons.

If successful, you will be appointed at Grade 4, (Scale point 5 to 6) permanent contract working 39 weeks per year.

The salary range is £16,152.53 to £16,475.67.

It is a requirement that all our staff have an enhanced DBS check as Brockmoor Primary is committed to the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils and staff. All appointments are subject to detailed and satisfactory references and health check being received.

NB: We reserve the right to close vacancies before the advertised date if a large number of applications have been received.

Online application forms will only be accepted for this vacancy, online facilities for jobs are available at public libraries within the Dudley Borough.
