Closing Date:  5th July 2019

About the role

The Organised Crime Unit for the West Midlands Region is a collaboration between the police forces of Staffordshire, West Midlands, West Mercia and Warwickshire to fight organised crime across the region.  The aim of the Regional Organised Crime unit West Midlands (ROCUWM) is to reduce the impact and increase the disruption of serious and organised crime within the region and beyond.

We target those areas of criminality we believe pose the greatest regional threats to the people and businesses of the area we cover. Working alongside other UK law enforcement agencies and many other partners from both private and public sectors, the ROCUWM will directly influence the capabilities of these groups, stifling and reducing their criminal activity.

Applications are invited for the role of National SaferCash Higher Analyst. This is a 3 year externally funded post.

As the SaferCash Higher Analyst you will work in partnership with the NPCC and the British Security Industry Association. The National SaferCash Analyst will work with the already established departments within the Regional Organised Crime Units, the Head of SaferCash, and the SaferCash analytical team based in North West, West Midlands and London regions to deliver effective intelligence research and analytical products in respect of Organised Acquisitive Crime (OAC) targeting CViT, ATM and Financial Institutions.

We are looking for exceptional candidates who are experienced and confident supporting all areas of analysis including tactical, investigative and strategic, leading identification of emerging trends and linked series in respect of CViT and ATM criminality nationally. You will work collaboratively with a number of partners across industry and law enforcement to drive this area of business.

You must be fully conversant with the National Intelligence Model, have substantial experience of working within an analytical environment and using analytical techniques to produce assessments to target organised acquisitive crime.

Whilst the post in based in central Birmingham, a proportion of your time could be spent travelling as you will be responsible for the supervision of analysts nationally.

If you would like to discuss this role or the assessment process, please contact Katherine Tyler, Head of Analysis by telephone on 07831502351 or email  k.tyler@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk

The assessment process will be taking place over two weeks in central Birmingham during early July.
