The Role
33.75 Hours per Week
Fixed term contract until 31 August 2021
COMMUNICATION SUPPORT WORKER to provide 1:1 support 33.75 hours per week, term-time (39 weeks) 8.30am - 3.45pm, Monday to Friday
Are you a nurturing and enthusiastic individual who can use British Sign Language and has a passion for giving hearing impaired children the best? We are looking to recruit a Communication Support worker who is ready to make a difference to a hearing impaired child who is currently in Year 4.
The start date is September 1st or earlier if possible and it may be possible to job share this role.
We are looking for someone who understands the needs of young people with a profound hearing impairment and can adapt support to ensure that children make progress and are as independent as possible. You will be required to work closely in partnership with the class teacher and use British Sign Language to support class work. Park Hill is a friendly and happy junior school in Kenilworth. Key Requirements
Hold a British Sign Language Certificate - Level 1 or above
Experience and understanding of supporting young people with a profound hearing impairment within an educational setting
A passion for supporting and nurturing children
A commitment to working with young people, developing their independence and learning
Ability to communicate clearly
