Post:              Teacher of Psychology

Salary:           £22,917 to £39,401

Start Date:    September 2019

Health Futures UTC is pleased to offer an outstanding individual the opportunity to join us and help shape our next stage of development as we take in our next cohort of students.  Psychology is a popular option at both GCSE and A level.

The curriculum at Health Futures is designed around care values and, in addition to their academic studies, our students complete projects which are designed with our employer partners and enable students to develop their employability skills.  The projects allow students to utilise our state-of the art facilities which includes a simulated hospital ward. All of our staff are involved in these projects, which add an exciting dimension to the curriculum.

You will be an outstanding teacher of psychology and will work within our social sciences team, led by our assistant principal, to design and deliver the psychology curriculum to meet the needs and interests of our students, ensuring that they achieve the highest possible academic standards whilst supporting our clear ethos and focus.

Working with a tight-knit group of committed staff, your professional opportunities will be second to none as we develop our provision together and ensure the best possible outcomes and experience for our students. This combined with our partnership with the University of Wolverhampton and other providers ensures that you will have every opportunity to develop your career and gain further qualifications.

Established with the backing of the University of Wolverhampton and in partnership with a wide range of health sector employer partners, including all West Midlands NHS Trusts and the West Midlands Ambulance Service, Health Futures is responding to the identified skills gap that is preventing local young people taking up the varied and valuable career paths in this sector.

As the welfare and safeguarding of our pupils is paramount, this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
