An exciting job opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistants to support a child within Year 4 on a 1:1 basis. This is a part-time role to commence in September 2019.

We are looking to recruit two people for the post with each post as follows:

Post 1 - Monday – Wednesday, am

Post 2 - Wednesday, pm – Friday, pm

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistants, you will be supporting a child with ASC within Year 4. You will work closely with the respective class teacher and relevant external agencies to implement and support the provision described in the child’s EHCP. It will be important for you to develop a strong working relationship in order to support the child in managing their anxiety and raising their self-esteem. It will also be important to support their learning both academically, socially and emotionally.

This role is well suited to someone who is able to work intuitively, who has a genuine desire for supporting those with Special Needs and is able to work as part of a team within a large and busy school community as we are a large three form entry school.

In order to apply for this role, you need to have the following attributes:

· A Level 2 teaching qualification, or above

· Proven and relevant experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with autism diagnosis

· An understanding of the KS2 curriculum

· An interest in developing their understanding of PDA

· The ability to demonstrate and promote positive behaviour

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

· A strong work ethic, with a committed and enthusiastic attitude

· A willingness to undertake training

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
