Apprentice – Teaching Assistant
Location: Bilbrook Middle School, Bilbrook Road, Codsall WV8 1EU
Employer: Staffordshire County Council
Contract Type: Fixed Term for 15 months
Working Pattern: Term time
Hours: 32.5 hours per week (8:30am-3:30pm)

If you are 16 and over, and interested in a career as a teaching Assistant we may have the vacancy for you.
All Apprentice training, development and work experience will be provided within the school, and an apprentice wage of £3.90 per hour will be paid for the first 12 months, rising to:
Under 18 - £4.20 per hour, 18 to 20 - £5.90 per hour, 21 to 24 - £7.38 per hour, 25 and over - £8.21 per hour for the remainder of the training.
About The Role:
Training will be carried out by Newcastle & Stafford Colleges Group; Apprentices compile an electronic portfolio of evidence proving evidence of competence, knowledge and understanding. Apprentices will be required to attend Stafford College one half-day a week on a Thursday, throughout the academic year.
• Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
• Functional Skills Level 1 ICT
• English Level 1 and Maths Level 1 or 2 (if required)
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities
• Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
• Good understanding of areas of learning, e.g. literacy, numeracy, science, SEN or Early Years.
We are looking for candidates who have:
• 4 GCSEs (Grade C or above or equivalent)
• English and mathematics is mandatory
The contract is a fixed term contract with a start date of 1st September 2019
