Education Caseworker  


The Warwickshire Attendance Service is an established team delivering attendance services commissioned by schools to improve attendance outcomes. The team also undertake an enforcement and prosecution role on behalf of the local authority.Warwickshire Attendance Service has three area bases - North (Bedworth), South (Warwick) and East (Rugby) but deliver services both in and out of the county.

 

 

You will be working with children, young people, families,schools and in multi-agency settings to support improvement in school attendance. Managing a caseload you will undertake assessments, create action plans and provide direct casework intervention as well as providing professional advice in relation to attendance. You will be required to keep electronic case records and ensure they are up to date and accurate. Appropriate cases will require you to use escalation and enforcement procedures in line with The Non-School Attendance and Penalty Notices Code of Conduct and The Code for Crown Prosecutors.

 

You will also be required to provide schools with advice and guidance in relation to whole school attendance including coding, policy,systems and processes.  However working as part of a team there will be training and support provided to you to ensure that you can ensure that the customer receives the best quality delivery.

 

The successful candidate will be based in Bedworth but will be allocated work throughout Warwickshire and out of the county and so you must be prepared to travel.


Key Requirements

 

The ability to work under a high degree of pressure including meeting deadlines and dealing with conflicting demands.  You will have experience of multi-agency working and be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, schools and other agencies. You will be able to produce high quality written reports and keep accurate records.

Experience of working for a traded service would be beneficial.
