INFORMATION GOVERNANCE OFFICER
Salary: £36,153 - £39,961 per annum (pro rata)
37 Hours per week
The Information Governance Unit which sits within the Corporate Services Directorate of Staffordshire County Council is responsible for taking the lead in, and delivering initiatives on, a wide range of information governance issues. This includes compliance with information governance legislation, information access and security, records management and information assurance across the County Council.
We are looking to recruit a full time Information Governance Officer. The main purpose of the role will be to ensure that Staffordshire County Council maintains an adequate level of protection for information and information systems. The role will also help to ensure Staffordshire County Council is compliant with information governance legal and regulatory requirements through development of policy and guidance and seek to embed a culture of good data handling across the organisation. The role will include work across the organisation and with external partners on council projects and initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, demonstrate good project management skills and the ability to communicate with clarity. The successful candidate will have relevant experience and a broad understanding of the principles of information governance and security.
