The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a Senior Cover Supervisor with responsibility for arranging cover for the short-term absence of teaching staff. This will involve liaison with supply agencies and a high standard of record-keeping – paper and electronic. The postholder will manage a small team of Cover Supervisors. The post holder will also be responsible for arranging whole school or year group activities where room changes and cover are required, for example whole school Remembrance Service, year group Masses, internal exam cover and year photographs. In addition to this, daily room change requests will need to be completed and a record of staff absences will need to be kept. Also, to work with the school Business Manager to ensure the school absence policy is followed.
Hours of work will incorporate a 7.15 am start to facilitate the cover of late notification of absence.
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, as well as a flexible approach, are essential. Training will be provided, but IT skills and previous experience of working in a similar post is desirable.
