‘Making every pound count can maximise outcomes for our young people’
(Lord Agnew Academies Financial Handbook 2018)

We are seeking to appoint a finance assistant to work in our busy and supportive team.  This is a wonderful opportunity to gain some really valuable experience in a forward thinking school and to put your strong IT skills to the test!  The role will involve working closely with our Business and Finance Manager as well other members of the support staff team and finance staff, across the Trust, in a very professional and friendly environment.

As part of the finance team you would need to meet weekly, monthly and annual deadlines and support budget holders by providing advice and information on our suppliers and the complete order process (after training of course!).  The school currently uses the PS Financials system to record all financial transaction; orders, invoices, deliveries, payment, debt, bank reconciliation.  Part of the Finance Assistant role is to ensure that data on PS is up to date and accurate.

You will need to be confident in the use of IT applications and the ability to create and manipulate Excel spreadsheets is essential.  Flexibility will be key as will a meticulous, organised, analytical approach, together with the ability to provide excellent customer service and to work accurately with attention to detail.

Previous experience of working in an academic environment would be an advantage but this post could be equally suited to an experienced finance assistant who has worked in a different sector.

Foxford is an 11-18 vibrant, multi-cultural school which is known for its friendly and supportive ethos and its ambition to succeed.  We have recently become part of Castle Phoenix Trust which specialises in leadership and was founded in February 2013, on the success of the Caludon Castle Teaching School.

Being part of a Multi Academy Trust, and its associated teaching school, facilitates an opportunity to further develop our strategies to continue to invest in and develop our staff and, most importantly, bring about the best possible outcomes for our students who deserve the very best.

The Trust has a strong commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition, through its people strategy, and offers a range of benefits which include the local government pension scheme, cycle to work scheme, discounted gym membership, free parking and an employee discount scheme.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Application packs are available to download on www.wmjobs.co.uk, http://castlephoenixtrust.org.uk/job-opportunities/vacancies/ Completed forms are returnable to HumanResources@caludoncastle.co.uk

Closing date: 9.00 am on Monday 8 July 2019
Interview date:  Interviews will be held either on 11 or 12 July 2019
