We are seeking to recruit a Workshop Assistant based within the Transport Section at the Council’s Lister Road depot in Dudley.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary:  Grade 5

Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, you will assist in general duties associated with the Transport Maintenance operation, including performing minor defect repairs, general cleaning duties within the workshop, collection and delivery of vehicles, collection of spare parts and assistance with vehicle breakdowns.

You must hold an NVQ Level One in Automotive Maintenance or equivalent, or be prepared to obtain this qualification, and an LGV Category C driving licence.

The service operates two alternating shift patterns:
6.00am – 2pm and 10am – 6pm
