About the role:
Are you up for a challenge?
We are looking for a Diversity and Inclusion Manager who has the confidence, passion and skills to develop and promote the diversity and inclusion agenda across the West Midlands Police force.
Whilst being a proven advocate and effective influencer, you will develop and support the delivery of the D&I strategy and a range of innovative initiatives to embed diversity and inclusion across all roles and levels across the force. You will engage, advise and collaborate with key stakeholders, both internally and externally to drive the diversity and inclusion agenda which underpins WMP2020 workforce vision and values, and the People Deal.
You will have proven skills and experience in the following areas which relate to the diversity and inclusion agenda:
- Strategy-manage the D&I agenda to deliver on strategy
- Leadership –ensure the force and it’s people remain at the cutting edge of the D&I agenda
- Engagement-influence, collaborate to embed D&I strategy
- Compliance – support policy implementation, governance and risk management
- Change Management and Delivery-influence, support and lead to help embed D&I across the force
- Monitor and Evaluate- positively manage the effectiveness of the diversity and inclusion strategy and initiatives
- Positive Action – initiate positive action initiatives where necessary to address under-representation of groups within departments.
Essential Criteria
• Have experience managing, developing and delivering diversity and inclusion initiatives, with evidence of proven results.
• Have knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity theory and application, legislation and policy
• Experience of developing and implementing equality, diversity and inclusion strategies, policies and processes
Desirable Criteria
• Experience in the design of diversity and inclusion initiatives at a strategic and operational level
