The Role

This post is initially temporary until 31st August 2020 with the possibility of extension beyond this. The salary for this post will depend on experience and range will be from Band D to Band FTE (£18,426 to £21,116 FTE)

We are a primary school in Lillington and looking to take on a Teaching Assistant to join our team on a fixed term contract starting from September. This would be for the whole of the 19/20 academic year and could be extended further. You will be joining a highly motivated and committed staff that know our children very well. Key Requirements

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant with children from the ages of 2 to 11. The role will entail providing support and guidance for these individual children who have been identified as requiring support. The post will be for 28.75 hours per week.   • Hold a recognised and relevant NVQ qualification and have undertaken other appropriate training
  • Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grades A-C
  • Have good communication and listening skills and be able to present information verbally and in writing to others
  • Have experience of TA work
  • Have attended further training on aspects of the curriculum or areas of special needs
  • Have good level of knowledge and understanding of at least one area of learning
  • Understanding school’s policies and how they relate to local and national frameworks/policies
  • Can use ICT effectively to support learning and use other technology equipment
  • Can plan own work when required
  • Be able to exercise initiative and independent action
  • Be pro-active in offering ideas
  • Can solve problems and can exercise initiative and independent action
